About the Client
The client is a leading education services organization operating in the academic publishing and digital learning sector. The organization provides authoring support and plagiarism-free content solutions to academic publishers, enabling the creation and delivery of structured digital learning resources across multiple STEM disciplines. Their content is distributed through learning management systems (LMS) and digital education platforms used by students and instructors worldwide.
Challenges They Faced
The client required end-to-end support for authoring and preparing digital solutions and question files for academic textbooks across multiple STEM subjects. The project involved converting complex academic content into structured digital formats suitable for online learning platforms. Several operational and process-related challenges needed to be addressed.
- Evolving Project Scope and Incomplete Initial Instructions: At the start of the project, several critical instructions and workflows were not fully defined. Certain activities, such as creating H1/HM files and preparing digital outputs, were introduced later in the process, requiring significant adjustments and additional effort.
- Frequent Rework Due to Sample Iterations: Multiple rounds of sample reviews were required before finalizing the production workflow. Each revision involved converting digital files into HTML format and incorporating detailed feedback, leading to considerable rework before achieving the desired output quality.
- Large Volume of Academic Content: The project required processing a significant number of titles across subjects such as Mathematics, Biology, Statistics, and Physics. Each title contained thousands of solutions, with some ranging from 9,000 to 15,000 solutions per title.
- Compressed Production Timelines: Despite the high content volume, the entire project was expected to be completed within an estimated 90-day production window, creating pressure on production scheduling and resource allocation.
- Changing Client Priorities and Timeline Adjustments: During the project lifecycle, the client’s internal priorities shifted, leading to reduced project timelines and requiring rapid adjustments in resource planning and delivery schedules.
