SME- Social Studies (Grades K–12)

SME will design a Pennsylvania-aligned social studies curriculum that promotes civic engagement, critical thinking, historical analysis, and the societal impact of STEM developments.

Scope of work:

• Design lessons that examine the intersection of social change, historical context, and STEM.
• Develop culturally responsive and inclusive curriculum materials.
• Embed inquiry-based and project-based learning elements into coursework.
• Create assessments that evaluate analysis, synthesis, and application skills.
• Promote interdisciplinary connections (e.g., data visualization in historical research).

Required Qualifications:

• Master’s in History, Social Sciences, or Education.
• 5+ years in teaching or social studies content development.
• Expertise in equity-centered curriculum design.
• Strong grasp of PA Social Studies Standards and civics integration.
