SME – Multigenerational Workforce Leadership

We are seeking an experienced and insightful Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the review and evaluation of online course content focused on leading multigenerational workforces. The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge of generational dynamics in the workplace and a passion for enhancing learner experiences through high-quality, relevant content.

Scope of work:

As the Subject Matter Expert, you will:

  1. Course Recommendation & Alignment:
  • Recommend related topics or micro-courses (e.g., inclusive communication, generational bias, or reverse mentoring) that support a broader leadership learning path.
  • Align content with leadership trends and workforce diversity strategies practiced in multigenerational environments.
  1. Program and Course Outline Review:
  • Refine the course structure and topic flow to clearly represent leadership challenges and best practices in multigenerational team settings.
  • Ensure learning objectives support practical application for mid-level and senior professionals in team or project leadership roles.
  1. Content Review & Enhancement:
  • Review course materials for relevance, tone, and inclusivity; enhance with real-world workplace scenarios and cross-generational dynamics.
  • Suggest improved examples, leadership caselets, or empathy-building exercises to support learner engagement and reflection.
  1. Reference Material Support:
  • Provide academic and practitioner sources related to generational theory, workforce trends, and leadership strategies in diverse team contexts.
  • Suggest readings from thought leaders (e.g., SHRM, Deloitte, Harvard Business Review) and case studies across industries.
  1. Industry & Client Relevance:
  • Ensure the content reflects leadership expectations in today’s hybrid, agile, and global workforce environments.
  • Confirm that learners gain tools to foster psychological safety, encourage knowledge transfer, and resolve intergenerational conflict.
  1. Content Maintenance:
  • Recommend updates based on workplace generational research, emerging workforce demographics, or client-specific feedback.
  • Ensure the course reflects shifts in generational attitudes, workplace technologies, and remote work norms.
  1. Collaboration & Communication:
  • Work closely with instructional designers, writers, and project managers to co-develop high-quality, learner-focused content.
  • Participate in review cycles, provide timely input, and ensure alignment between SME guidance and final deliverables.

Qualifications:

Master’s degree or higher in Organizational Leadership, Human Resource Development, Business Administration, Industrial-Organizational Psychology, or a related field focused on workforce strategy or leadership.

Professional Experience:

  • 8–10 years of experience in team leadership, organizational development, HR, or workplace training.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, or manage cross-generational teams in mid-to-large organizations.
  • Demonstrated experience applying inclusive leadership strategies and addressing generational differences in team dynamics, productivity, or conflict resolution.
  • Background in corporate learning, leadership consulting, or executive coaching is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience mentoring, training, or coaching professionals in leadership skills is a strong advantage.

Additional Requirements:

  • Strong ability to write or guide the development of practical, scenario-based content with real-world relevance.
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills to guide instructional design and cross-functional teamwork.

Preferred skills:

  • Deep understanding of generational traits, values, and motivational drivers in the workplace.
  • Familiarity with workforce engagement tools, inclusive leadership models, and employee lifecycle planning.
  • Experience designing or reviewing leadership development programs or corporate training content.

Time Availability: 10 hours per week
