Hurix Systems Passes CMMI Milestone
The only Publishing & eLearning company in the world to have done so

Mumbai, October 13, 2006
- Hurix Systems, one of the fastest growing technology companies in the Asia-Pacific region, has moved one step closer to attaining the highest level in the Software Engineering Institute’s (SEI) quality framework: the Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI). Hurix was appraised at Maturity Level 4. The appraisal used the Class A Standard Assessment Method for Process Improvement (SCAMPI).

This makes Hurix the newest member of a very elite club. The SEI website lists only 35 companies from around the world that have made it to CMMI-4. Others on the list include global technology majors like Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, Sikorsky, Fujitsu, Hitachi, IBM, etc. Hurix is the only publishing and eLearning company to have made the cut.

“This is a proud moment for us, especially since we are such a young company,” said Subrat Mohanty CEO, Hurix Systems. “The strength and soundness of the Hurix Way, which lays great emphasis on continuous improvement of systems and processes, has already been proven by the pace at which we have grown and the list of our clients. This comes as endorsement.” He added, “However, we don’t intend to rest on our laurels. For us, this is only more incentive to keep refining and fine-tuning our systems and processes, to create even greater client delight.”

Hurix is due to be assessed for Maturity Level 5 shortly.

About SEI CMMI
Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) is a process improvement approach that provides organizations with the essential elements of effective processes. CMMI was created by the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) at Carnegie Mellon University in conjunction with members of industry and government.

The goal of the CMMI project is to improve the usability of maturity models for software engineering and other disciplines by integrating many different models into one framework.

CMMI should be adapted to each individual company, therefore companies are not "certified." A company is appraised (e.g. with an appraisal method like SCAMPI) at a certain level of CMMI
